The nearness of our flesh stands in immense contrast with the profound distance which goes on infinitely between our souls.
To wait, to wade in uncertainty,
blinded and stunned by flickers of hope.
Hope
without reasons, yet without doubts
without ends, yet without fear.
Then there are dreams that may come true
only to trample upon my hope.
And here I am, without mercy,
watching it beg:
“Forgive me, my dismal existence.
Your desire, your passion, I could not realize.
Should I have let them die?
Leave me now, but leave me whole.
Leave me sulking, I’ve been such a fool.”
Time and I,
hands held tight.
“You’ll always be mine.” He said.
And I, rendered speechless by his eyes,
couldn’t notice the warning signs.
Quietly, he possesses me.
Never has he loved me.
But,
“You’ll always be mine.” He said.
And I, made ugly by his loveless heart,
couldn’t feel my soul leaving.
“Where are you going?” I ask.
It keeps going.
“Where are you going?” I raise my voice.
“Where are you going?” I start screaming.
It turns around, loudly laughing.
Time shuts it out, turns back smiling.
“I’m going to love you now.”
Time and I,
hands held tight.
“You’ll always be mine.” He said.
And I, finally in love,
could not notice
that Time
is passing by.
